Engagement Shoot Hair and Makeup (On Location)

An engagement session is a chance to look like yourselves, only camera-ready, in the light of a place you love. Soft glam, hair that can move, and skin that holds in open shade are usually all you need. It is not a rehearsal-dinner overdo, and it is not a bare face that fades in noon sun. Mobile Beauty Team is an experienced professional traveling hair and makeup team, and we come to the house, hotel, or a nearby hold so you can walk into the session already finished.

Couples sometimes use this appointment as a small look test before the wedding, and that is welcome. Please tell us if you would like notes kept for the wedding day.

What most sessions book

Soft glam makeup plus lashes, unless you skip them, and hair as a blowout, waves, or a simple updo that can survive wind, is the most common request. Partner grooming is a kind add-on for close-ups: shine control, brows, and a beard tidy. Natural glam is lovely if you want less product on camera. Full glam can be right for an evening or flash-heavy session, or if you already know you want a stronger eye. If there will be outfit changes, please tell us. A second texture or a lip swap needs a little time, and we would rather plan for it than rush it.

Where we can get you ready

Your home, then a drive to the location, is often easiest. A hotel is helpful if you are flying in. A nearby indoor hold is better than trying to work in a beach parking lot, which is not a studio and usually has no power. We need a chair, light, and a surface for kit. If the session is a sunrise hike, hair and makeup happen before you walk.

A gentle clock

Engagement glam is shorter than a wedding morning, and it is still not ten minutes. Makeup is often about forty-five to sixty minutes, and hair is often about forty-five to sixty minutes. They cannot happen on the same person at once unless you have booked only one service. A buffer before the photographer arrives keeps the first frame from feeling hurried. A touch-up kit is helpful if the session runs long or includes wind and warmth. If both of you want full hair and makeup, please say so. That is two people, which may mean two artists or a longer single-artist morning.

Photographs, weather, and a possible wedding trial

We set skin for mixed light among trees, walls, beach, and flash. Blush and lip should still exist when the photographer steps back. Hair should still look like hair after a laugh and a gust, without leftover powder on a dark collar. You may use the session as a wedding trial. We will photograph the look in daylight and indoor light and keep notes. It is not a full substitute for a bridal trial if the wedding hair will be a complex updo you are not wearing on the session. What to have nearby

Outfit photos that show necklines, a hairpiece if you want one (you supply pieces, as we do not sell extensions), glasses if they will be in the shot, a robe or button-down, and the photographer's arrival time and location are all helpful. Hair is clean and dry unless a blowout is booked.
