Engagement Shoot Hair and Makeup (On Location)

Engagement shoot hair and makeup should help you look like yourselves, only camera-ready, in the light of a place you love. Soft glam, hair that can move, and skin that holds in open shade are usually all you need. It's not a rehearsal-dinner overdo, and it's not a bare face that fades in noon sun. Mobile Beauty Team is an experienced, professional traveling hair and makeup team, and we come to your house, hotel, or a nearby hold so you walk into the session already finished.

Some couples use this appointment as a small look test before the wedding, and that's welcome. Tell us if you'd like notes kept for the wedding day.

What most sessions book

The most common request is soft glam makeup with lashes (unless you skip them), and hair as a blowout, waves, or a simple updo that can survive wind. Partner grooming is a good add-on for close-ups: shine control, brows, and a beard tidy. Natural glam works if you want less product on camera. Full glam can be right for an evening or flash-heavy session, or if you already know you want a stronger eye. Finish options: soft glam vs full glam vs natural glam. If there will be outfit changes, tell us. A second texture or a lip swap takes a little time, and we'd rather plan for it than rush it.

Where we can get you ready

Your home, then a drive to the location, is often easiest. A hotel helps if you're flying in. A nearby indoor hold beats trying to work in a beach parking lot, which isn't a studio and usually has no power. Wherever you choose, please have a chair, a table or counter for kit, an outlet, and decent light. Some of our artists carry their own chair and lighting, which helps when a location is bare. If the session is a sunrise hike, hair and makeup happen before you walk.

How long it takes

Engagement glam is shorter than a wedding morning, but it's still not ten minutes. Makeup often takes about forty-five to sixty minutes, and hair about forty-five to sixty minutes. They can't happen on the same person at once unless you've booked only one service. A buffer before the photographer arrives keeps the first frame from feeling hurried. A touch-up kit helps if the session runs long or includes wind and warmth. If both of you want full hair and makeup, tell us. That's two people, which may mean two artists or a longer morning with one.

Photographs, weather, and a possible wedding trial

We set skin for mixed light among trees, walls, beach, and flash. Blush and lip should still show when the photographer steps back. Hair should still look like hair after a laugh and a gust, with no leftover powder on a dark collar. You can use the session as a wedding trial. We'll photograph the look in daylight and indoor light and keep notes. What to have nearby

Outfit photos that show necklines, a hairpiece if you want one (you supply pieces, since we don't sell extensions), glasses if they'll be in the shot, a robe or button-down, and the photographer's arrival time and location are all helpful. Hair is clean and dry unless a blowout is booked.
