THE BEST WEDDING VENUES IN HAWAII
Updated: Sep 25
Maui has everything from private oceanfront estates to big resort lawns. If you're planning a Maui wedding, these are the best wedding venues in Hawaii we'd look at first, with a note at the end on planning hair and makeup for an island wedding.
Private estates and event spaces
Olowalu Plantation House, West Maui. Right on the ocean, with the sound of waves and, in winter, the odd breaching whale. It makes a great backdrop for the ceremony and gives you lots of portrait spots. There's an intimate estate wedding option for up to 30 guests.
Kukahiko Estate, West Maui. An intimate estate for weddings of 50 guests or fewer, with a lava rock jetty that looks out on Kaho'olawe and West Maui.
Sugar Beach Events, North Kihei. An indoor and outdoor venue a little off the beaten path, where the ocean breeze keeps things cool.
Haiku Mill, Haiku. A historic mill on Maui's north shore, off the road to Hana, surrounded by greenery and shaded by an old mango tree. It needs very little decoration, which suits couples who want luxury and nature together.

Restaurants
Merriman's Kapalua, Kapalua. Known for its sunsets and its food. You can say your vows overlooking the ocean or on the small lawn next door.
Resorts
Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, Wailea. A boutique hotel with a ceremony lawn just steps from the reception area, so guests don't have far to go.
Four Seasons Resort Maui, Wailea. Three separate beachfront wedding areas to choose from.
Check current details, like guest limits and getting-ready space, with each venue.
Hair and makeup for a Maui wedding
Our Maui artists travel to homes, hotels, and venues in Wailea, Kihei, Lahaina, Kaanapali, and nearby communities. A few things help on an island wedding day:
Plan for wind and humidity. Beach and cliffside ceremonies can be breezy, so tell us early if you're outside and we'll plan a style that holds.
Book early if you're flying in. Our destination wedding guide covers trials, timing, and what to send us before you travel.
Share your venue and ready-by time. Some venues are a drive from Wailea or Kaanapali, and travel or parking fees can apply.
See our Maui page, and if your wedding is on Oahu, our Honolulu page. Then send us your date and venue.
