Time blocks we plan around with care

Bride makeup is usually about one hour, and bride hair is usually about one hour, so hair and makeup together are about two hours. Bridesmaids, mothers, and family members are often about forty-five minutes per service. After the last chair, thirty to sixty minutes for dressing, flowers, and a last look keeps the first photos from feeling rushed. Groom grooming is a shorter chair, and it is still worth a place on the schedule. Hair and makeup run in parallel on different people, and they cannot run at the same time on the same person.

A few gentle rules help almost every morning. The bride sits in the middle of the schedule, never at the end. There are enough artists that photo time feels realistic. Each person has one chair at a time. The buffer is part of the plan, not an extra if there is leftover time. Extensions, updos, and tattoo cover deserve a mention in advance so we can give them the minutes they need.

A calm sample for a party of four

Imagine a bride and three attendants, everyone wanting hair and makeup, with first look at 11:00 a.m. Two artists, one for hair and one for makeup, might begin at 7:00 a.m. Attendants rotate through the chairs first. The bride's makeup often begins in the middle of the morning, with her hair following, unless the trial suggested the reverse. By about 10:30 a.m. the room can turn toward dressing and a last check. If the groom would like grooming, we give him his own short window rather than tucking him into the bride's hair time.

A more spacious sample for a larger party

For a bride and five attendants with four artists and an 11:00 a.m. first look, the morning can begin closer to 7:30 a.m. Two hair chairs and two makeup chairs keep people from waiting long, and leftover minutes become breathing room rather than a reason to add a surprise guest. A party of eight can keep four artists and start a little earlier, or add another chair. A party of ten or more is most comfortable with enough artists that portraits do not wait on the last updo. Who feels best going when

Attendants who are not in the first frames can go early. The bride stays in the middle. Mothers who will be in family portraits right after she is dressed are often scheduled nearby so they are ready for those photos. The groom may be in his own room or may swing by the suite for a short chair. Flower children can go later so the look survives play, or earlier with a small touch-up. A room that supports a peaceful morning

One chair per artist, a little daylight, outlets, and a landing place for kit are enough. Pets and children are happiest out of the working area, and we ask that there is no smoking or vaping indoors while we work. Hair is clean and dry unless a blowout is booked. Travel fees can apply depending on distance, and if a hotel charges for parking it is customary to validate or cover it.
